The obesity epidemic is affecting one-third of children in the country. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the rate of obesity in America has tripled over the past three decades and obesity is now the leading health concern among parents in the United States. Ride the buses and cars have replaced walking to school, physical education classes have been cut and children now spend 7.5 hours/day with computers, video games and TV instead of playing outside. With the busy life of ours, it is difficult for families to find the time to eat healthy, home-based.

Obesity is also a serious concern in the budget, as we spend $ 168 billion/year in healthcare costs related to obesity. If we do not address obesity among our youth, health costs — it’s the fastest-growing areas of federal government spending — will continue to skyrocket.

I am pleased to say that the smart steps have taken. First lady Michelle Obama has been leading the way to help promote healthy foods and physical activity among children. Her let’s move! The campaign has been encouraging parents, schools, and children across the country to work together to create a healthy generation. NFL play 60 campaign promoting physical activity everyday and help children understand the benefits of exercise. And for the first time in 15 years, the U.s. Department of agriculture has been updated nutrition standards to make sure our kids get a healthy meal at school. This is great progress and good news for students whose 31 million school lunch. More fruits and veges, whole grains and low-fat milk all the help our children develop healthy eating habits.

Children spend most of their days in school, and making sure they were faced with the choice of healthy foods and physical activity are essential not only for their health but also for their academic achievement.

I wrote the fitness integrated with teaching (FIT) kids act to combat childhood obesity by strengthening physical education program in our school. A lack of regular physical activity not only affect children’s health, it can also affect the development of academic research also shows that as healthy children learn more effectively and higher academic achievers. Unfortunately, many schools are cutting PE program due to lack of academic resources and competing demands. According to the CDC, in 2009, only 33 percent of high school students attend daily physical education classes.

According to play commercial, outdoor furniture and facilities of the site, have the knowledge and resources to help clients choose the right play surfacing materials added to new or existing.

Natural weather and General wear and tear, dirt and the grass is not considered appropriate play protective surfacing materials. Asphalt, concrete and carpet are also not appropriate, because they will not provide adequate bearing from falling. Surfacing materials that are appropriate to play can be divided into two groups: unitary surfacing materials such as rubber tiles, mats, poured-in-place rubber and artificial turf (similar to field Indianapolis from Super Bowl XLVI); and the loose fill surfacing materials, such as shredded rubber, manufactured wood chips, sand and gravel nuts. Unitary surfacing material is ideal for a play intended for toddlers (ages 6 to 23 months), handicapped accessible playground, or playing multiple-use areas. Loose fill the surfacing material can become a more effective option, but as a minimum depth required must be guarded at all times, more material that should be used in front, and must be continually added.

According to the book of public Playground Safety Handbook, loose fill is surfacing materials will compress at least 25% from time to time, the weather and usage. As a result of absorbing properties, loose fill different materials would require a different level of filling of at least. When choosing a protective surfacing materials to play commercially, please keep in mind that whether unitary or loose fill, dark colored surface appears to be able to be hot if exposed to direct sunlight, and can cause blistering on bare feet.

For ease of playing commercial purchasing process, ParknPool staff has researched extensively the public playground safety Handbook. For more information on play and play safety, please call 877-777-3700.

St. PETERSBURG, Fla.–a Mental health professional will tell You there are children in the entire Tampa Bay area who have been through hell. Many have been ripped out of taking care of their parents due to abuse, neglect, or even death. Some were forced to live in a stranger’s House and in some cases, children in care will live in dozens of foster home while waiting to be adopted.

April White, 21, of St. Petersburg has been through more heartache and disappointment in his life younger than most of the experience in a lifetime. He was born to his mother’s care when giving birth to him in prison.

White went through 32 different foster homes between the ages of 5 and 12. He eventually was adopted by his workers, but the case was returned to State care a second time when he was 16 years old. She was out of the system before he could find permanent homes.
