Cuts to foster care will cost more in the long run?

St. PETERSBURG, Fla.–a Mental health professional will tell You there are children in the entire Tampa Bay area who have been through hell. Many have been ripped out of taking care of their parents due to abuse, neglect, or even death. Some were forced to live in a stranger’s House and in some cases, children in care will live in dozens of foster home while waiting to be adopted.

April White, 21, of St. Petersburg has been through more heartache and disappointment in his life younger than most of the experience in a lifetime. He was born to his mother’s care when giving birth to him in prison.

White went through 32 different foster homes between the ages of 5 and 12. He eventually was adopted by his workers, but the case was returned to State care a second time when he was 16 years old. She was out of the system before he could find permanent homes.

Smaller portions mean more balanced meals for kids, study finds

Feeding preschoolers the parts that are smaller than the main course at lunch to say they would eat more fruit and veges on the side and fewer total calories, according to a new study.

Said the researchers found can give parents one additional strategies to encourage children to eat more green veges, as the rate of childhood obesity continues to rise and research shows that children left behind good guide to the consumption of fruits and veges.

With the main course, “You need to be careful and use the service in accordance with the age,” said Sara Sweitzer, nutrition researcher from the University of Texas at Austin.

Parents can ensure they provide the right amount of foods either by checking what’s left in the box lunch when the kids come home, and talk to their kids about how much they eat.

New play opens tomorrow in Weston

Norfield children’s Center is pleased to announce the ribbon cutting ceremony for a beautiful, our new play on Friday, January 6 at 9: 00 am. Britta Lerner, a former children’s Center Board of Directors Norfield President and one of the original planners involved in the project play will be cutting the Ribbon. Parents, Alumni, and some of our favorite Westonites will attend a festive event.
